Data Scientist

Responsibilities

Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
Interpret data from multiple sources using a variety of analytical techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to data mining, to more complex statistical methodologies
Develop statistical models and machine-learning algorithms, and tune existing models when needed
Engage with key engineering and product stakeholders on important projects and initiatives to understand their analytical and operational challenges and translate these needs into data solutions
Look for opportunities to improve current processes or find efficiencies by applying industry best practices as a data science professional
Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
Prioritize requirements and create rapid prototypes and minimally viable products for end-usersIdentify valuable data sources and analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns

Build dashboards and self-service tools to enable ongoing monitoring of trends
Provide end-user education for interpretation of business data as well as reports about model performance
Document and communicate technical specifications with key stakeholders to ensure proper techniques and standards are incorporated into deliverables and understood by the end-users

Experience using business intelligence tools and data frameworks
Experience working with and creating data architectures
Experience visualizing data and/or building dashboards
Understanding of machine-learning algorithms
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-pace, high-change environment
Previous experience in building and training machine learning algorithms is a plus
